If you appreciate the perfect, golden crust of good, hot, fried food, read on—Real Art was tapped to showcase Vulcan’s top-of-the-line fryer at the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) Show in Orlando.
To show how the Vulcan PowerFry™ stands out, Real Art transformed the machine itself into the center of an interactive experience. We created a custom app that lets NAFEM attendees control videos on the large-screen display through a touch screen tablet. We installed the high-def screen and crafted motion graphics to highlight the PowerFry’s key features and entice equipment buyers at the show with all the crispy, delicious possibilities. No word yet on whether they’re giving out samples…
Hi Everybody. In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a massive claw in our cafe. In case any of you ladies or dudes are wondering how the geekier side of this thing works check this out. With an Arduino Mega, 5 refrigerator switches, 4 cameras, 3 motor controllers, 3 wheelchair motors, 2 power supplies, an actuator and an ultrasonic sensor we set out to make the worlds largest claw machine. Not only that… You drive it over the internet! There’s an awesome flash site behind it to handle the long line of people queuing up to play it. If you want to check it out in action go to http://www.thesantaclaw.com and give it a shot. This was our first big project with an Arduino, we typically write Flash and .Net sites, so this was pretty far out of our wheel house but having no knowledge or training of any sort wasn’t going to stop us! Now to how this puppy works.
Join the Dayton Adobe User Group and the WPCFUG tomorrow night, Wednesday April 21 to celebrate and learn more about the launch of Adobe Flash Builder 4 and Flex 4. Flash Builder 4 is an application designed to help software developers rapidly develop cross-platform rich Internet applications (RIAs) and content. Flex 4 is an open source framework for developing RIAs. As a part of the Flash Platform, these powerful technologies can be used to easily create rich applications that run cross-platform in a browser or on the desktop.
To help make sense of these new tools, Adobe Platform Evangelist, Kevin Hoyt, will provide a thorough demonstration. He’ll also be on hand to answer any questions you might have about Flex or Flash Builder.
As if that wasn’t enough, there will be free food and drinks to enjoy. There will also be a door raffle for some great prizes, including a free copy of Flash Builder 4, a free copy of Creative Suite (courtesy of the WPCFUG), T-shirts, books, and more!
This is a free event; all you have to do is show up to participate.
I have stumbled across something that really blew my mind. Well, not really. But it is still neat! Keen!
De MonsterDebugger is a kickass AIR application that debugs all Flash, Flex and AIR applications in real time and allows for properties to be changed while the app runs (kind of like changing CSS properties in Firebug and seeing the changes instantly). The only caveat is that it can only be used with AS3 applications. How to use it? Here’s a too-simple run-down:
For those of you who are on the fence about Adobe Flex apps, check this out. Kuler is an online application where members explore, create, and share color harmonies.
They even have a widget for Mac users.
