We designed and developed a visually stunning new website for ooVoo, the world’s largest independent video chat and messaging platform. The new long-scrolling design, revamped content, and choice visual elements help this video chat company put its best face forward.
The company’s old site had been around for years and suffered from page bloat. Each time ooVoo had created a new feature or venture, they’d added a new page, unintentionally burying important content inside a labyrinth of drop-down menus. A related phenomenon could be seen in the site’s backend, where tangled bits of legacy code and mysterious scripts cluttered the source code.
Real Art seamlessly carried the new ooVoo brand onto the web with a clean look that brings visitors on a curated journey through features and uses. The site presents information in an appealing sequence punctuated by attention-grabbing touches like parallax motion, custom icons, and gorgeous lifestyle photography.
One of the benefits of doing everything in-house is the synergy generated by our teams as they work together on different facets of a project. Because our digital and print designers were working together on ooVoo’s brand redesign, they were perfectly attuned to bringing the brand to life online. From the first strategy concept through to the launch of the site, every element was considered, questioned, and relentlessly improved.
When it came to optimizing the site for different devices, Real Art decided on an unconventional approach. Rather than make a fully responsive site that might lose its visual integrity, we locked-in the design of the desktop and tablet versions, simply scaling the background to fit a browser window of any size. For the mobile version, however, we made the site fully responsive to fit the user’s screen. This combination of scaling and mobile optimization ensures the best user experience across all devices.
Now, ooVoo has a beautiful online presence that’s already increasing site traffic and driving downloads of their app. The site’s new refined structure, design, and content helps show visitors what this video chat company is all about: helping more people share more moments together.
